Ministry & Outreach

The Outreach Group	Mission & Aid Group
Christian Development Group

The Outreach Group was formed in January 1991 to examine the life and needs of our local neighbourhood and encourage people in our parish to join us in worship and social activities. We support the liaison of our church with all other churches in the area to promote ecumenical harmony. Our care team is incorporated into this group, which attends to the needs of parishioners, whom we know to be sick, bereaved or require a visit for any other reason. We have access to a Sunshine fund which regularly makes donations to MENCAP and other West Lancs. Charities. Members of our team regularly assist the vicar with Communion at the Shielings. More recently we have begun a monthly Social Afternoon to which all are welcome for a cup of tea, biscuit, chat and a game of Bingo and Beetle. We hope to develop these further in the future.

Mission & Aid Group

Our aim is to raise funds to help the needy at home and abroad. We organise the Christian Aid, Lent and Christian Missionary Society (CMS) collections. We also raise funds through car boot sales, the CMS sale, the sale of jam and coffee and cake afternoons. Come and help us to co-ordinate these activities!

Christian Development Group

Faith is a journey, and the aim of the Christian Development Group is to establish and encourage a process of nurturing, by prayer and practical planning, to accompany people on their journey.
